This is a very special mezcal, using the traditions of the native people of Oaxaca with ancestral and artisanal processes.Through personal hardship, Don Gil, the patriarch, his wife and his five sons are moved to create a special mezcal to honor their family’s journey of tragedy to triumph; to celebrate life, spiritual growth and the mystical ways of the Universe. The eagle represents the untamable life of the father, Don Gil, the agave plant under his wings are the mother, the feminine energy uplifting the eagle and the five stars above are the five sons of Don Gil. This mezcal embodies the story of their perseverance and their commitment to excellence and tradition. It is their offering of a celebration to life and the mysteries that move us all. All Don Gil mezcals are made using the philosophies of the Zapotec people, their reverence for the agave plants and ancient techniques, with the best of modern practices and equipment.
